Global Warming presentation (updated)

Mr. Gore, your film changed my mind about global warming,
thankfully, due to unrelated reasons, I sold my car over a year ago and now use public transportation, I use energy effecient light bulbs and appliances, and I practice other measures you mentioned, I will continue to do so now knowing that I'm not only saving money, but playing a role in saving mankind. The only thing that would have had agreater impact was if you had mentioned what you were doing in your day to day life as a way of practicing what you preach. (By the way I am a conservative republican born again christian)

Patricia, I agree with you, completely. Gore only mentions that he has become "carbon neutral" in the movie, but he doesn't suggest all of the ways that one can reduce their energy consumption as well as pay for credits as he does.

Your film An Inconvenient Truth was shown today at our University, Stetson in Deland, Fl. After watching this film I have become well aware of a HUGE problem that we are facing here on our precious Earth. I have just ordered your film on Amazon.com along with a PBS aired film on Global Warming, because I feel that if I show this film to my friends and family I can at least do a small part in educating the ones I love and care about. Hopefully by educating others we can make more people aware of the problems at hand. After watching this film I think more and more people will see that there is a desperate need for change. I have just recently bought a home myself and it is 100% Energy Star Certified, and all of my appliances and lightbulbs are Energy Star Efficient. I plan on switching to a Hybrid car in the near future as well. Even more importantly, if I can walk or ride a bike, I will. I would really like it if you could possibly begin visiting Universities World Wide to share your presentation. I feel that the children today can make a large difference in our future! Thank you again for all your hard work and contributions. If it wasnt for your film, it may have been a lot further along in time before I found out what I now know!

Thanks MR. Gore for showing world whats in stake and what can be done about it. I was watching the documentary and thinking well if this is such a big issue which i felt it 10 years ago without any research and knowledge that earth is getting hotter, how can great politicians and scientist do not perceive this. Well i remember talk to my father 10 years a ago when i was 14 that how the ice creams melted much faster then it use to 2-3 years ago. People of india have experienced a great climatic shift and i have felt it.

I hope this documentary brings concensus and emergency in developed countries as well as 3rd world countries.

It is human tendency to be influenced very fast and deminish there interest even faster. I hope the emergency stays for ever.

I hope people will be more aware of concequences of global warming. I pledge to make this planet a better place to live.

Thank you so much for the awareness on Global Warming. I watched this movie twice in one day because the comments and facts you have presented have open my eyes on how much our mother earth is going through. As a human being atleast we can go is to help save.

Ok, Gore's movie is great and also has a big impact on the people. The film says some thruths also. But I keep asking myself is he really into what he is saying, or is it just a good speech?

I believe that global warming is the result of naval activity. I recommend reading this thesis (http://www.1ocean-1climate.com). This change may be human made, but not so much by driving cars, but mostly by warfare.

Todd: Thanks you for making our global warming powerpoint presentation available on line for download. Like yourself, I was greatly moved and inspired to act by "An Inconvenient Truth". I lectured about global warming in addition to many other environmental issues in my college classes, but now that I've retired don't have as much access to student audiances as I once did. I still give many talks to community groups on a wide subject of talks relating to planetary integrity and the Earthwatch Expeditions I participate in, and I have many powerpoint presentations, but none on global warming. Yours is extremely well done and I plan to use it for several talks I will be giving to audiances here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, during the next year and (hopefully) in the future.
Thanks again for the work you did on the presentation and for making it available to others like myself.

Todd - I recently became involved in the effort to stop global warming. I attended a training session to enable me to go out and present the topic to church groups in my area. Unfortunately, all I had when I left for the day were a few handouts and a very unclear picture of what I was supposed to do.

I decided that I would have to take it upon myself to create something meaningful to present to these groups. Your presentation is going to be an excellent starting point for me. I'm sure i will pare it down considerably, but I can't tell you my joy at just finding something I could have access to!! Thank you for sharing it - I plan to spread the word.

Thank you very much for making your presentation available. I just spent hours looking for materials to use in my Physical Science classes at Westwood College, and finally hit your jackpot. Your slides will save considerable time and make it possible to get the message across more effectively.

I totally agree that Gore would have a much bigger impact if he showed people what he is doing in his own life to help prevent global warming.

Sadly though I think he didn't do this because the steps he has taken are not the kind of things most people would do because of the cost.
